I must have sounded like a squaking parrot. "Malachi, bring your dishes to the sink." Over and over I asked him.
He hovered around the table seeing how long he could evade my request. Finally I stopped, looked him straight in the eyes and said, "Malachi. I have asked you four-hundred times to please bring your dishes to the sink. Now are you going to obey mommy or do you need to have a time out to think about it?"
Casually walking toward his dishes, he whipped his head back towards me and squaked, "Chill out, Mommy. Chill out."
Later that day, Micah was trying to put a puzzle away and he accidently dropped it. "Oh no," he said.
Malachi laughed.
I was listening in from the other room.
Micah told Malachi it was not nice to laugh at him. Malachi responded with another laugh. Micah said, "Stop laughing at me!"
Malachi, as if waiting for the opportunity, chirped, "Chill out Micah. Chill out."
