Brothers and Birthdays
Mathias Pax is 4 months old and as cute as a button! :)
John made sure my birthday was special. He even bought the boys noise makers so they could celebrate my birthday all day while he was at work. As Mother Teresa says, it isn't the magnitued of the things you do, it's the love that is put into the things you do that matters. Speaking of doing for others, that large cookie and cupcakes were made by my neighbor Jennifer! Yummm.
I've found that the more time we spend at home, the more the boys play nicely together and really enjoy eachother. When we are heading out for play-dates and running Micah to class or even out running errands, the boys seem to be at each other's throats! They fight more and respect and help each other less.
This even includes Mathias! The boys are sensitive to Mathias' needs when we've had more "at home" or "down" time.
Malachi came into the bathroom to play with and lay beside Mathias while I got his bath ready. He even shared Sammy. I can't describe the way my heart feels when I see my boys really love eachother. It must be sort of how God feels when we really love each other... choosing to be sensitive to the cries of our brothers... forseeing the needs of those around us.
I think the depth of one's life is more important than the breadth. Do I want my boys to travel and go to the best schools and be exposed to all the riches this world has to offer? Yes! BUT. Not at the expense of a shallow life. When we spend time together -- not at the over-stimulating mall of america, or being entertained by a movie -- just the hum-drum breakfast at the kitchen table or playing in the backyard, the depth of appreciation and understanding felt for one another is multiplied.

How great is our God
Malachi was singing "How great is our God" in the tub. The last part of the video he's just re-decorating the tub... pay no attention to that part. But then I asked him to sing it again...
and then he sang it while he played basketball... and while he got his diaper on... and in bed... Tonight I go to bed with great joy tingling from head to toe. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OsyiGgSlqY

The Resurrection -- that's what it's all about.
We had an Easter-egg hunt with the neighbors. Fun, fun!
Malachi had just woken up from his nap when we sprung this hunt on him... but I was impressed. He held his own with the other kids (who were 4,6,8, and 10 years old)! He got quite a few eggs!!
Mathias is really lifting his head! good boy!
Micah and Daddy time. Micah makes it very clear that he does NOT look like his mom. He looks like his daddy. I love the connection John has with his boys and how Micah is beginning to really associate himself with "boys" -- I ran with that idea and told Micah he was the "man of the house" when daddy was at work and he needed to help me out with the little boys, and cleaning up, etc. :) worked like a charm!
Micah loves to role play with these. He's such a natural comedian. He makes us laugh every day!
